Milton Keynes Council has started work on two Development Plan Documents (DPDs) which will replace the existing Minerals Local Plan. The documents are the Minerals Core Strategy and the Minerals Sites and Policies DPD.
The first stage in the preparation of these documents was the production of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Scoping Report, which sets out how the sustainability of the options and policies developed in the Minerals DPDs will be assessed. Through this document, there is no discussion of potential mineral development sites, the volume of mineral extraction in Milton Keynes or development management policies. The document simply sets out how we will appraise and assess policy approaches through the development of the Minerals DPDs, to ensure our approach is the most sustainable option.
The Minerals DPDs SA Scoping Report was available for comment between August and October 2009. Thank you if you made any comments during the consultation period. We are currently reviewing your comments and will publish our recommendations and responses to those comments soon. In the meantime, all the comments received in the document are available to view by clicking on the button below.
As we progress through the preparation of the Minerals DPDs there will be more opportunities for public involvement, and consultees will be contacted at the relevant times.
